Skills and Knowledge.

Hello! I am Ailsa Durward and have graduated from Abertay University and have spent the last few years improving my art style and learning different software normally used by the industry while living around Dundee.  Often, I like to post my work and artistic journey online across multiple platforms.

When I am not working, drawing or coming up with ideas for projects and animations, I am normally looking after my dog and playing different games to see how developers have tackled several problems and to see if there are any trends in this media, like how characters are designed, written and animated along the user interface and menus.

I also take part in playing tabletop games particularly Dungeons and Dragons and Cyberpunk RED on a very consistent basis, normally weekly and have been playing different campaigns for over five years now, mostly as a player but occasionally hosting campaigns in a setting that I have created from scratch.

Often peers and friends have described me as being a very determined and friendly character, constantly aiming to create my best no matter the situation and trying to be a reliable member who can be counted on. Previously this has been seen in many group projects where I started to draw out ideas early and take notes and minutes of all the meetings I have attended. I normally reach out to discuss and offer motivation and feedback to my peers and team members, it is an understatement to say that I try to leave a positive impression no matter what I am doing.

Education

2019-2022

Abertay University

2015-2019

Dundee and Angus College

During my time at Abertay University, I spent the three years working towards a BA (Hons) Computer Arts Degree, taking classes during the second year geared towards animation. During these years, I have worked on many projects on my own and with a group of peers. I also had to adapt to remote learning and working during the lockdown.

After my time at high school, I spent four years taking courses to help expand my artistic skills and knowledge along with finding out where my strengths lie in the animation pipeline.

The courses included Introduction to Art and Design (2015-16), Certificate in Computer Arts (2016-17) and HND Computer Arts and Design (2017-19).
